Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the P&J Rancho Cucamonga Concrete & Masonry website and any work you ask us to quote or do. When you browse the site, call us, send the contact form or accept an estimate, you agree to these terms, so please read them before you go further.
If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site or book work through it. You can always contact us with a question before you decide.
What we do
P&J Rancho Cucamonga Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and we also do concrete work. Our crew handles jobs like foundation repair, chimney and brick repair, tuckpointing, block and brick walls, retaining walls, pavers, walkways, stone veneer, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens for homes in Rancho Cucamonga and the cities around it.
The descriptions on this site are general and meant to help you understand the work. They aren't a promise that a particular method, material or result fits your house, because that depends on what we find when we look at the job. You can read more about our crew on the About page.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, with no pressure and no obligation. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure on that visit, so it covers the scope, materials and price we describe in writing and nothing else.
Masonry and concrete jobs sometimes turn up conditions nobody could see beforehand, such as damaged footings, rotted framing behind veneer, buried debris or soil that won't hold a base. If that happens, we stop, show you what we found and give you a written change in scope and price before we do the extra work. We won't charge you for added work you haven't approved.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material costs can change, so we may need to update the figure before we schedule your job.
Scheduling and cancellation
Once you accept an estimate, we'll agree on a start date with you. Start and finish dates are our best plan, not a guarantee, because rain, heat, material deliveries, inspections and hidden conditions can push the work back. We'll tell you as soon as we know a date is moving.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (909) 360-4010 as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered special materials or started work, you'll owe for the materials that can't be returned and the work already done, as your written agreement spells out.
We may reschedule or stop work if the site isn't safe, isn't accessible as agreed, or the weather would harm the finished work, because masonry and concrete laid in the wrong conditions don't last.
Payment terms
The payment schedule for your job, including any deposit, progress payments and the final payment, is written in your estimate or contract, and that document controls. Final payment is due when the work described is complete, even if a separate item like landscaping or painting by someone else is still pending.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. Any fees for late payment will be the ones stated in your written agreement.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
We're licensed and insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. Satisfaction is guaranteed, which means if something we built isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it. Any specific warranty terms for your job are the ones written in your contract.
Some things are the nature of the materials, not a defect. Concrete usually develops small hairline cracks as it cures and settles, natural stone and brick vary in color and texture from piece to piece, and new mortar or concrete may not match older work exactly. Efflorescence, the white powdery salt that can show on masonry, often appears in the first months and isn't a failure of the work.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as earthquakes, flooding, soil movement, tree roots, vehicles heavier than the work was built for, poor drainage we didn't install, or changes and repairs made by others after we finish.
Apart from what's written in your contract, the information on this website is provided as is, and we make no other promises about it.
Limits on our liability
To the extent California law allows, P&J Rancho Cucamonga Concrete & Masonry isn't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property, lost income or costs from delays, that arise from our work or from using this website.
Where we are found responsible for a problem with our work, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that California law says can't be waived.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with any part of our work or billing, please call us first at (909) 360-4010 or reach us through the contact page. Most problems get sorted out quickly once we're back on site and can see what's going on, and we'll try in good faith to work it out with you directly.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us may take the matter to the courts in San Bernardino County, California.
California law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes won't alter a written contract you've already signed with us.
If you have a question about these terms, get in touch or head back to the home page to see what we do.
